What does a typical day look like?
Every day is different, even if you have the same lineup of pets!
Depending on your availability, you may start or end your day caring for pets whose parents are out of town, so we are responsible for their feeding, walking, meds, etc. Instructions vary home to home and pet to pet.
Throughout the day, and mostly in the midday hours, you will see some of our regular canine friends. Most of these dogs have a busy pet parent working long hours, which means we are there for a potty break and to help get them some exercise, whether that's walking when the weather allows, or playing inside after a potty break when it's too hot out.
Some days will be filled with cuddles, and walks, and treats and all the good things that pets bring us. Other days will have poop accidents, and nervous pets, and hot weather and all the challenging things we learn when we care for pets. Everyday will be rewarding.

Why this job might be challenging for you:

you are looking for a guaranteed amount of work; we often deal with cancellations and last minute changes that affect staff schedules.

a large part of this job is driving to and from client's homes; we do pay hourly for drive time between homes, but driving is inevitable.

this job is often dirty and hot. sometimes you have to clean up nervous potty accidents, among other things, and you are expected to work even in hot Phoenix weather. This is a 365days/24/7 service job.
What we require:

a reliable mode of transportation with a valid drivers license.

you are able to work in our service area: Central and North Phoenix, Paradise Valley, and Central and North Scottsdale. We do not serve the West Valley (such as Glendale, Peoria, or Surprise) or the East Valley outside Scottsdale (such as Mesa, Chandler, or Gilbert).

a mobile phone with a cellular data connection, and the ability to learn and utilize a third-party app and communicate with us via Slack.

you are at least 18 years old and able to pass a background check.

you are a quick learner, dedicated animal-lover committed to providing care for Phoenix pet parents, and know how serious this job is.

you have another source of income if you need it; again, this is a supplemental income position.
